Can/how do you dye kanekalon hair?

I bought some blond kanekalon hair with the intention of making myself synthetic dreadlocks, and I'd like to know if you can dye this stuff just like normal hair or if there's some specific method/product to it. I was thinking of dyeing it abnormal colors, like purples and blues and such. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

i dont think so, cuz you may damage it like real hair

Kanekalon is synthetic, right? I'm not sure if you can dye synthetic hair. That's why weave comes in so many colors.

You won't be able to change the colour of Kanekalon. You'll have to get a selection of coloured pieces and bond them together to form multi-coloured locks.

Yeah im with pauline on this one i make dread falls alot with synth hair, yarn, wool, etc and really all you can do is get another color to blend just adding them in and then when you back comb it for dreading it will most likey look pretty good because since the synth hair wont color at all simply because its just that synthetic and the dye has nothing to really hold on to.

  1. not true, plenty of people have had great results with FW ink or sharpies mixed with isopropyl alcohol, i have tried and tested this method and had great results taking a blonde to yellow and blonde to pink.

  2. that's correct.. you can change the color of a synthetic wig with FW ink mixed with isopropyl alcohol. It is very messy and I would suggest using a spray on leave in conditioner when all is said and done.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iche6v-JeA
