Blond to brunette?

my hair is blond.. kinda, and I wanna dye it brown.. medium or dark brown.. and I am nervous that the results will suck!

words of advice or encouragement?

Blond to brunette?

they will suck

Blond to brunette?

shave it like mr T.

Blond to brunette?

Im sure it will look great!! Going darker is alot easier then going lighter!

Blond to brunette?

go dark and get a tan. It'll make u feel more comfortable

Blond to brunette?

do it brunettes are always hotter

Blond to brunette?

how about black?

Blond to brunette?

i think you should dye it brown..

a light brown... Im a weird colored brunette i have like all the color in my hair: red, blond and mostly brown...

try it and if it doesnt work then you could always dye it back, right?

Blond to brunette?

two words.................

PURPLE MOWHAWK

Blond to brunette?

depends a lot on your complexion.. if you're too fair, I'd do lighter brown if you're wanting to look semi-natural, if not, whatever, do whatever is fun to you!

Blond to brunette?

Perhap's you could ask the troop's dying in IRAQ. I'm sure that is a high priority. spoiled.

Blond to brunette?

Do it, Do it, Do it. My friend who is a total blond just did it, he looks like a totally different person and he loves it! Says it makes him feel different in a good way and if u end up hating it you can dye it back in a few days.

Blond to brunette?

I would lowlight it brown first to see if you like it. Highlights and lowlights are a whole lot easier to grow out then all over color if you don't like it.

Blond to brunette?

Don't worry.I say go for a medium brown.I looks unique and special. Also, add some blonde highlights to look cool but you dont really have to.For funky looks, add purple highlights to dark brown. For a girly look, add pink highlights. For a sporty look, have some medium brown and add black highlights. It will turn out great,i promise.:)

Blond to brunette?

well it really depends on your complextion, if you have really fair skin, maybe brown isn't the way to go, but if you have a nice olive, or tan complextion, you should definatly go brown.

Blond to brunette?

it will look great! dont worry about it.

Blond to brunette?

it's always nice to do a make over on yourself, just a little advice tho....once you dye your hair from blonde to brunette it is so hard to get your natural blonde hair back.. goodluck with it.

Blond to brunette?

It will be perfectly fine. It doesn't do as much damage as going lighter. It is adding color, not taking it away. If your hair is bleached, you may want to go a shade darker than you want your hair. ;)

Blond to brunette?

get it done professionally. good luck.

Make sure to dye it a color with the right undertones. Hair dyes come in warm/cool/neutral. Figure out which tone you were born with, which goes with your skin, etc. and stick within that tone family. Warm is like golden and cool is ashy. Neutral is somewhere in between.

I don't recommend the $10 box hair dyes because they dye your hair all one color and it ends up looking really flat. Natural hair has highlights and never looks as flat as dyed hair. There's a reason these dyes are so cheap. If you DO decide to dye it with cheap dye then at least make sure to pick a color that's at least 1-2 shades lighter on the box than the color you want. In my experience, box dye always comes out darker and it is very hard to go from dark back to light (you need bleach which is damaging). Also, results look best if you stick within max 3-4 shades within your natural color.

It's a big decision because if you don't like it your hair won't be the same again--to get it back to light you'll ruin its texture with bleach, and end up having to grow it out (that's what I'm doing). I'd do anything to have my natural long hair back again but unfortunately I made the mistake of coloring my hair.

If you're set on a change, go see a pro hairdresser. Yes it's more expensive but the results are much nicer. Personally I'm biased against dye altogether (hairdresser or not), but it works for some people. Just do your research. Good luck :)

Blond to brunette?

no it wont suck ... think positive ...and it will come out the way you want it .. good luck ^___^!!!

Blond to brunette?

If you really want it that colour, not just because people think it's prettier.

Blond to brunette?

brunettes are better!!!!

I am still a dark i guess dirty blond and I am sick with the jokes so I wish I was a brunette.

Blond to brunette?

you know there is only one way to tell if your a real blonde

Blond to brunette?

light, the darker a light haired person dyes their hair the faker it looks

Blonde hair going darker can be a serious commitment and a serious shock. Permanent haircolors are just that and will show serious regrowth at the scalp. They penetrate the innermost part of your hair and can be tricky to remove without professional training. Semi-permanent and Demi-permanent haircolors also penetrate the inner hair, although not as deep. So, if you're nervous... try a temporary color or rinse. These will coat the outter layers of your hair and will fade quickly.

Ask around in your area... find a gal with hair you like and ask her where she gets hers done. A licensed professional can give you the best advice on how to make such a dramatic change.

To ease the shock of a new, darker, allover color - try low lights. Basically you have strands colored a few shades darker rather than the entire head. This can ease the transition and will be much easier to keep up with.

The best way to go darker is with the help of a professional. If you change our mind after you've colored your hair at home it can cost you mega bucks for a pro to remove the color. Attempting color removal on your own is risky... you can cause severe breakage or unwanted colors (think circus clown orange or pond scum green). So, before you try it, ask for a complimentary consultation with a licensed salon professional in your area.

Best of luck!
