Do you like me better as a blond or a brunette?

I am looking for peoples opinions on whether i should keep my hair blond, or if I should go back to my natural hue, brunette. I've colored my hair a lot, but I'm trying to find the look the looks that looks best on my fair completion. I have always wanted to be blond, and now I finally am but i feel even paler then I felt brunette. I was slightly tanner in the brunette pictures because they were taken about a month ago. Opinions please!

I think that Brunette suits you better....

If you are finding that Blonde is making you pale than maybe look at the type of blonde that you have in your hair, It might not be the right tone for your skin.

I had that problem before too until i started looking into different skin tones and which one was mine, then i purchased the blonde tone that is right for my skin type and i don't have that problem anymore.

Everyone falls into one of the four "seasons" as the colours are categorized into Summer, Spring, Winter and Autumn (Fall).

brunette. you do realize you are using too much mascara, and the eyeshadow dosnt fit your complexion. thus making your fair complexion stick out like a sore thumb. go with a lighter on your makeup. your going for a natural more suttle look.

u can go swimming right after highlights if they are done with lightener! if they are done with color you must wai at least 24-48 hours to let the color settle into your hair!

This is a very tricky question. However, I realize its important to you, right? I mean who wants green hair? However, I have known several lifeguards who highlight their hair and some ended up with green tinted hair and others didn't. I'm sorry I think you're gonna have to wait and see what happens to yours. Good luck.

You'll need a lot of different hair coloring material. You get a foil and put it underneath the blonde strip and with a brush streake one line and wash the brush and do it with another color.

that's the only way I can think of.

part your hair horizantolly on the side like in the pic, n split it so the you have two parts over each toher like layers.

3....

Leave the first layer natural color, and take the layer underneath and dye that in rainbow color with your dyes.

4.....Do it again, afterwards if u want the layerd choppy look cut about 4 inches off the 1st layer, 3 off the second, 2 off the thirrd and so on...

I would say keep it longer (not past the shoulders though, unless the guy in your example is into metal or in a metal band =D), but Military style hair looks clean and sophisticated, so I don't think the guy in your example would look bad either way.

I think guys who wear their hair long have a grungy look to them, if they are all for that then go ahead and keep it long. A short hair cut though would tell me that the guy is into keeping up with his appearance and it would seem more mature. Personally I like guys with shorter hair.

the blonde one needs to add body to her hair...its a nice style but a little flat. the brunette has no trouble with volume, but she would look better with Japanese straightened hair, maybe some reddish highlights, and if you do decide to straighten it then get sidebangs too. I would go with a blond, something slightly ashy too. Maybe with darker tones under, not the whole part underneith, I don't like that, but with some lowlights.

I think the ashy-ness will look good with your pale eyes, and would make your eyes and tan skin stand out, much better than a golden blond color would.

Purple shampoo is definately a great idea, it boosts the blonde and reduces brassiness so your hair doesn't look yellow- whether its dyed or not. Also if you want to really amp up the blondeness try getting a few really light blonde foils throughout your hair.

If you are a natural blond ( NO color at all) use Sun-IN I used it for years. You can use it temporally in the winter until summer then lay out in summer. You can spray it on your wet hair and lay out or use a hair dryer to lighten your hair. It will not be a dramatic Blond and you will have to do more then one coat, I would do mine until I like the color. But you will be blonder after a few times with out the expensive highlights or hair color and without the damage either. I will warn again don't do this if you have colored you hair, a friend did and her hair turned orange. Otherwise it is a great product for subtle natural looking hightlights.

If you would like to have a unique style for your hair,I would consider getting bright hi-lights or just wear your hair in more than a ponytail.For ideas,go to the nearest hair cutting place and look in their idea books.Maybe you could even cut your hair a different way.

i think if you had a patch of highlights on the top would look good as thats the fashion with highlights at the mo~ not to be evrywhere just in one spot~plus that way you can get used to it and then u might wanna go cmpletey blue!!

No, it doesn't lift or deposit colour. But, it did help make my hair look a little brighter by preventing deposits from forming on my hair. And the silicone made it look shinier so my then blonde hair loked a little "blonder".

i dyed my hair blond since grade 6, im now 20 yrs old

2 years ago i dyed brown for when my natural grows out

and for the past year havent dyed whatsoever

the blond at ends blends in with my light brown roots but looks like i have 3 hair different hair colours in pictures

PROBLEM-hair underneath(back of head)is completely fried, ripped, frizzy everywhere, so short that hair is only an inch or three underneath. overall hair condition is dry dead extreemly frizzy with lots of breakage. how do i get my amazing long hair back?

i need black hair for halloween and would like to dye it a semi, but my hairs condition is really bad, and im affraid if i ask a salon they will talk me into it just for the $

Hair colouring/damaging long hair?

First of all .......DO NOT COLOR YOUR HAIR RIGHT AWAY! You need to get it back in good condition or its just going to damage it even more. I would suggest a good trim job, some good shampoo and condioner that will moiturize your hair. Use a shampoo/conditioner with a ph level of 7.5 or a little lower ......n e thing higher than that is high in acid levels...you may want to check with your stylist to c which ones are good they do have some that r not name/salon brands.........also do not use the 2-in-1 products......the cleaning detergents in the shampoo counter acts the agents in the conditioner. You may also want to try a cholestrol treatment to help with moisture in your hair.......do not use v 05 hot oil ......its an oil treatment only and does nothing to help retain moisture. A good leave in conditioner would help also. But if you decide to color n e way then you need to use a filler......either protien or a condioning filler ......u can find it at n e salon or beauty supply store. But honestly I wouldnt do n e thing till you got your hair back in a healthy state. If its just for Halloween buy a wig......its cheaper and safer for your hair at this point. I know this is kinda long but you DO want your hair back right?

Have you tried Pantene for dry/damaged? I fried my hair (well actually a salon did) and I tried all the expensive brands and Pantene worked within 2 or 3 shampoo/conditions. My hair looks and feels healthy again. I was able to dye it myself with a non expensive brand and It's super shiny to. The other thing that helps are the silk drops by Biosilk if you just put a couple drops in your hand and smooth it over your hair. It's amazing to. Good Luck.

I also have curly hair, and struggle with frizz...one product that has worked wonders is by Aussie...it's in a purple tube, called Calm that Frizz Styling Cream. It's relatively inexpensive and does the trick. It also has a hold to it, so I don't have to use gel or mousse or even hairspray. Nice.

Wash hair, concentrating on the scalp, using a low-detergent shampoo (the tip-off is that it doesn't lather very much, but when in doubt, buy formula for fine hair). Rinse and apply conditioner, leave it in for a few minutes, and rinse with cool water. Then press - don't rub - wet hair with a towel. Comb your hair gently with a wide-tooth comb.

While hair is still soaking wet, rub a blob of silicone gel, cream, or serum between your palms and run hands down the length of hair to seal the cuticles shut. The coarser the hair, the heavier and richer the product should be. To make sure every strand is coated from the roots to the ends, pin up the top layers of hair and smooth gel or serum on the bottom layers first.

If you have curly hair and want to wear it natural, let it air-dry, or blow-dry it using a diffuser. Hold the dryer so that the diffuser cradles hair from below. To wear hair straight, divide it into two-inch-wide sections. Blow-dry each one on high from roots to ends, using a metal barrel or boar-bristle brush and pointing the nozzle down. To reseal cuticles, use just serum or pomade on dry hair.

Hair which is naturally frizzy lacks moisture and protein. Thus, the first step you need to take is to ensure your hair has sufficient moisture.

Apply egg yolk to your hair around half an hour before washing your hair.

Wash your hair with a moisturizing shampoo, and follow up with a conditioner. Unless you exercise, you need wash your hair only once a week.

Invest in leave-in conditioner. After washing and conditioning, towel dry hair and apply a small amount of leave-in conditioner to the ends of your hair.

Styling your hair:

If your hair is frizzy, you will need to spend some time styling it if you want it to look good. Do you want to go curly? Then apply a generous dollop of gel to damp hair to hold the style and to tame frizzies, and get started.

* Apply rollers and leave them on until your hair dries completely. Avoid applying heated rollers unless essential. You could also apply sponge rollers at night, and remove them the next morning.

Hello. My natural hair color is dirty blond on the roots and the tips of my hair are light blond. I haven't had it its natural color for over 6 years because I've dyed it many times. I got a gift card to a salon thank god, so I can get it fixed. The picture I included is pretty recent (I'm on the left.) It's a bit lighter then that now. I want to dye it lighter, but heard from a stylist that if I got it dyed lighter, it would look bad because I have color build-up and will have different shades of blond and it wont look good. Other people say it will work. What is your opinion? And do you think that the picture of fergie I included would be a good color for me (I like that its not too blond or too dark.) thanks!!

How can I fix my hair??

If the colorist is good, you can get what you want. You should bring in the photo of Fergie and work with the colorist to determine if that color would work with your skin tone (even though you have a tan, your face is fairer with pinkish rose tones which indicates "cool" tones, and Fergie doesn't have this coloring -- she has "warm" tones to her skin). Her color may look too brassy/orange-y on you.

The ramifications of the wrong tone hair? All your imperfections will become obvious, any blemishes, etc.

Dying it lighter from a darker color shouldn't be a problem; the only difficulty would be to find a color that your hair would combine with to get the color you want. If nothing else, the colorist can "lift" (bleach) the color from your hair (this would make it lighter than the final color) and then "deposit" the color you want.

Personally, I think that having different shades of blonde makes hair much more interesting and "natural" (having the lightest shades on top).

It may be that the colorist you consulted did not have the level of skill to do the job. You need to find one that does, and possibly has before and after pictures of clients.

Don't use the box bleach. You have a lot of red undertones in your hair so there's going to be a good chance of it turning strawberry blonde if you do it yourself. Your best option would be to get it professionally done, but if that's not an option for you I'd read this:

Haircoloring is a mix of technique and art. Experiments rarely turn out nicely.

First, keep in mind for the future that you can only neutralise one colour at the time if you're not completely removing the colour with a special dye remover. These are not often found in drugstores however.

Also, keep in mind that the hairdresser will often use degrees of peroxide that are more potent than the one found in commercial dyes like L'Or鑼卆l, Clairol and Garnier use. These tend to be akin to 10 volumes peroxide.

And that just doesn't have a great deal of lightening power, especially not on a darker dye job.

My best advice would be to actually go to a hairdresser, because most likely you'll have huge colour build ups in your hair and eventually you're going to have your hair in many different colours after all these treatments.

If you don't do that, try to get a dye remover and follow the instructions. If you can't find it, then dump the oxide bottle from your dye box and buy stronger oxide. Try to do the hair in tiers and apply the dye by sections in order to put the dye on the roots last.

You can also try to leave it on longer than the required amount, ie something like 60 minutes and that sometimes cheats the amount of lightening you can get.

Another technique is to double the amount of dye you'd normally use and really saturate the hair with it.

But none of these methods will guarantee a nice result and might actually run up the cost of your dye job to what it would cost in a salon.

You can get some more dye and retouch only the areas that were missed. Just apply it only to those areas, and let the dye set the same amount of time.

Sure, that would look cute, but remember less is more. If you only have it done a little blonder, you can always get more done, but once it's too blonde it's too late! In other words, just try a little at a time, especially since your hair is fairly dark brown.

Lemon juice does work naturally but it may not give you the results you want. As opposed to dying it, try Sun In, its a spray bottle and lightens your hair and it costs about $3.00. Its better for your hair, less chemicals and will give you better results then lemon juice. :)

Bleaching does dry out your hair because it removes the natural pigment of your hair and strips away color and moisture. I have used bleach and my hair didn't get too dry, just use a damage repairing shampoo %26amp; conditioner afterwards. AND DON'T FORGET THAT DEEP CONDITIONER!!!

Lemon juice is a natural acid and can do the same thing.

But as long as you have a good deep conditioner and don't leave it on too long, it'll all be fine.

Go to Sally's and ask them for a good deep conditioner after bleaching.

Just don't use perioxide!!!!!!!!!!

so i have light-medium brown hair with lots of blond highlights so its pretty light brown specially at the bottom. I'm thinking about maybe dying my hair red or black, probably red. I want to test it out with a semi-permanent dye. Some people say though that the dye wont completely wash out especcially where my hair is blond and that it will be reddish there. is that true? also since i am very pale (pinkish), light brown eyes, long ovalish face and long hair (like 7 inches below my shoulders) and black eyebrows, what shade of red would look best? do i need to dye my eyebrows? and should my hair be cut or will i look fine with longer red hair?

If you want to see it with out committing to it- your only safe option is trying on a wig in the color you are thinking about. Those blond highlights will suck up any type of color that gets near them. If you like the look of the red I would seek out a salon that works with Framesi color. Professionally I love all the choices in red and the strength of the line. The colorist will consult with you about the correct tones for you. I would also have my eyebrows done at that time in salon. The job would only be half done without it. Your highlights will most likely need to be filled prior to coloring over. They will explain all of it.

A nice crimson red or ruby red would probably go well with your skin tone. If you're going to do the brows go to a professional stylist. You should dye your hair all one color first because if you don't the blond will be a different color than the brown. If it all starts out one color it will dye as close to the same color as possible. No dye will completely wash out of your hair. With time and as new hair grows, it will gradually "remove" the dye for lack of a better word. If you're not sure about color options you should always go to a professional stylist. It may be more expensive but at least you'll get the look and color that you most want.

To help with your frizzy hair, use an anti-frizz shampoo (Pantene's works for me), and use more conditioner.

Use Head and Shoulders or another dandruff shampoo to help prevent flaking. It's the only way to get rid of the dandruff as dandruff is caused by a fungus, which anti-dandruff shampoos fight. Wash your hair every 2-3 days, rotating the use of the anti-frizz and dandruff shampoo.

As for the multicolor blonde hair, do you mean like highlights? If you do, highlights are actually very attractive. Better than just plain, one-coloured hair. But if it really bothers you, go and have it dyed.

As for the frequent bbarbershop visits, stylists recommend you get your hair trimmed every 4-6 weeks, so if you probably won't want to go more often than that.

Frizzy: deep conditioning... leave in conditioner... smoothing to prevent frizz (I suggest Matrix Biolage Smoothing Serum)

Dandruff: wash your hair every other day! You're scalp is dry. Also maybe try head and shoulders or some other type of anti dandruff shampoo/conditionar combo.

Color problems: I don't actually understand this... did you dye you hair?

As for cutting.... cutting your hair will only get rid of the hair that is dead. (ya know, when you run your hands through it and towards the ends your fingers catch? yeah thats dead, cut that off) you should cut your hair every 6 weeks.

frizzy: herbal essence none of your frizziness collection its great!

dandruff: selsum blue or head and shoulders shampoo or conditioner.

color: john frieda's glaze for blonde hair or any other products that help promote good hair color and that makes it last.

wash your hair everyother day and switch off shampoos like one day frizzy shampoo and the other dandruff that way your treating both problems. cutting your hair i think makes your hair healthier..

Well, my hair was died kinda golden blond i spose, but i had bad light brown roots so I dyed it this morning. It doesnt look appalling, but I miss the golden tones my hair had before. The dye really was the closest I could find (my hair went golden blond before I didnt dye it- so I couldnt use a previous dye)

if it want dark after you colored it ,,it will wash out and will bring the previous color,, but will take some time,, but if u want something now,, I'll go get clarifying shampoo.. which removes products build ups and etc.. shampoo with that and leave it in for 5 minutes.. and rinse and condition.. it will remove access color build ups as well.. this way u are not damaging ur hair,,

You haaaave to use bleach, unless you used a non-permanent dye. If your going to bleach it, go to a salon to do it. Don't colour your hair agian because you cant lighten by putting colour over colour. If its non-permanent let it wash out, or use Sun-in (a spray in you hair product that lightens your hair gradually with heat). Dont use lemon juice though! The acid is dangerous to your hair and will dry it out. Lemon juice works some times but leaves your hair feeling like straw.

You should use a lavender tinted shampoo, it contains optical brighteners and the lavender hue works to remove any dull brassiness. Don't use the box bleach. You have a lot of red undertones in your hair so there's going to be a good chance of it turning strawberry blonde if you do it yourself. Your best option would be to get it professionally done, but if that's not an option for you I'd read this:

if your hair is coloured then you will need to use colourfix colour remover first to remove the artificial pigment you have put into your hair so that you have a blank canvas to do what you wish. then to get honey blonde you will only have to bleach to the yellow stage (toner will be the thing that tones the hair to an acceptable shade of blonde) then once bleached use something like 27g spring honey miss clairol by clairol http://www.clairolprofessional.com/dispe... I just had my hair bleached a few weeks ago, actually some of it has washed out, faded away, something. But it is darker than it was at first. Your mom should really fix your hair, I don't knwo anything about dyeing your hair though so I will let someone else on here help you with that. Good luck!!! If nothing else it will grow out soon.

Yes, but it depends on the base color of your hair now and how much of your hair is bleached. is it highlights or all over? die it with a golden blonde color - stay away from ash, because it does tend to leave hair on the greenish tone. stay away from anything red or copper based - it will leave your hair orange. best bet is to dye it a light or medium golden blonde. you will still have some of the highlights but they wont be as drastic - the color will help tone them down. good luck!

Get a dark colored ammonia free rinse to cover the discoloration. I would go for brown instead of blonde for now. You may want to give your hair time to recover before putting in more chemicals or you may end up bald.

If you can, see about going to a beauty school first. Otherwise, a medium ash blonde semipermanent color might work, but try to have someone help you with the back and also to keep an eye on the color. The ash knocks out red tones. A cool blonde (blue violet base) would probably be the best. Apply it to the darkest blonde parts first, then the lighter area. Don't leave it on longer than you are supposed to. Hair color keeps processing even after you shampoo it out. Good luck!

Do not dye your hair again today! It has already been damaged enough today. You probably tried to bleach dark hair, right? Leave it alone for tonight - it's had enough abuse. Tomorrow or the next day, if you still want, you can dye a darker blonde over it to even it out. However, DO NOT use an ammonia containing dye. This will damage your hair badly. Use an ammonia-free dye such as Clairol Natural Instincts. If this all doesn't work, please, see a professional stylist.

I completely messed up my hair with bleach, payed money on it too, it was dried out, yellow, frizzy and gross...I covered it with a semi permanent, used a leave in moisturiser and I'm still growing it out...any hair dresser will tell you that you have to fase your hair to go blonde, making it a little lighter each time, it's when you try to go blonde all at once that it becomes yellow....wish I'd known that...I recommend John Freida conditioner to repair it, really worked for me....good luck i feel you pain =(

You can easily buy a temporary color from walmart/target whatever. But if you really want you hair more blonde and even toned, I would suggest getting a permanent color and just dying it. Since your hair is already pretty light, a permanent color should actually take. If you want it really light, than buy the color and developer/peroxide/lift separately. Get a higher volume for however lighter you may want it. You have five choices: 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 (being the strongest). This will be a stronger and custom mix versus the pre-packed hair dye from the store.

Squeeze the juice of 6 lemons. Put it on dry hair and sit out in the sun ( usually while tanning or swimming just don't wet your hair for at least 1 hour). Tie up half ur hair, so it`s like half up, half down, but tie it loosely. then use heaps of heaps of hairspray as you teaste ur hair a little bit, after getting to the volume you want, get like a really nice, pretty, blig clip like a butterfly or something and push the back of the tied part up and clip it.

if you are already blonde, try using Crazy Colour, it is not permanent and comes in some fantastic colours, hot pink, red, green, peacock, purple etc. you can change the colour as often as you want then, and it can be applied as regularly as you want as it does not harm the hair, will last about 8 washes anyway and is only a few pound to buy

You COULD, but I wouldn't. That is the roughest of all chemical processes out there, and it's not cheap, because you want it done right. You could seriously damage your hair if not done right, so really think long and hard about this one. Plus, as new hair grows in, it will be wavy/curly--so you'll have to keep it up. It's really REALLY damaging, and I wouldn't reccommend it. I'll bet your hair tends to get frizzy too, right? And you want the stick straight hair that you see in all the magazines, right? You've got hair like my 17 year old daughter. She finally gave up on trying to have someone else's hair, and embraced her own hair, which is VERY thick, dark blond/light brown (she does add highlights), and wavy--and frizzes like crazy. She was trying to wear it long and straight, and she could do it, after spending over an hour with a straightening iron. She finally cut if off--it's now in short layers, falls to about her chin, and she can straighten it in about 10 minutes now. It looks GORGEOUS on her, and like she said--her head doesn't look like a triangle anymore!!! Find a hairdresser who can work with your hair texture and amount, and find a hairstyle that will work WITH your hair, rather than against it. Good luck!!!

1. Anticurl/Antifrizz service, this will not make your hair bone straight but will elimanate frizz and soften the texture to make most hair types more manageable. Hair feels and looks better after service is done.

2. A relaxer will make your hair bone straight but you will lose all elasticity, and most of the shine in your hair. Works for almost all curly hair types.
