As a colorist in NYC I had to answer you before your 10 dollar box of color ends up costing you 200 dollars.First off is your hair relaxed? If so be sure to go to a professional or your going to have a ton of breakage.

With dark hair you have a lot of red underneath the dark color.So you'll need to use a gentle deoxidizer[ bleach] probably 30 volume and when it's comes up to a pale yellow gold you rinse it off, towel dry it and use a toner to recolor it to the tone and level you desire.

Haircolor isn't like picking out swatches for your walls.Judging from your picture I would weave pieces into your hair[ foiling] so we.re not lightning all of your hair.Then I would tone it with a beige level 8 toner, that would blend with your beautiful African Amer skin tone. DONOT bleach your entire head especially if it's relaxed.Mary J Blige has an army of hairdressers to tend to the breakage and to style it perfectly everyday, blond is always high maintanence no matter who you are, be ready and willing to be spending twice as much time and money on your hair or you'll end up looking like those women with blonde frizz who didnt have time to style their hair that morning .
