Lemon Juice....does it damage hair??

i my mom tells me that i have dishwater blond hair.....BUT I like to call it a light sandy brown color, (which it is), and i want to highlight it w/o actually "highlighting" it....so i thought i would use lemon juice....i am either diluting it w/ water (2/4 cup water, 2/4 cup lemon juice) or peroxide (3 parts lemon, 1 part peroxide)...s'anyways...before i do this, i wanted to know if this will DAMAGE my hair in any way....or will it be fine, and serve as a nice NATURAL highlight-er. THANX!!

Stay away from the peroxide. PLEASE. It is unstable and WILL damage your hair (and probably turn it some weird color). Lemon juice is as safe as it gets. You want to paint streaks on (or add some to a spray bottle with a little bit of water) then sit in the sun for a few hrs. The sun is the key ingredient... without the sun the lemon won't do anything. Lemon will dry your hair a bit so deep condition afterward, but it isn't really damaging to your hair.

no, the lemon juice does not damage your hair. the peroxide will turn your hair that color of gwen stefanis hair, but you may want to do that. make sure you go out in the sun after you put the lemon juice in or it will not work as well.

dont use peroxide!!!! lemon juice is perfectly fine for ur hair. it does great. u may also wanna try using sun-in. i use it and u can use the hairdryer w/ it and it works. my hair got like 3 shades lighter using it. lemon juice works well too, u just have to sit outside in the sun. i didnt have time to do that, so i used sun-in.

No, lemon juice is natural. If you put lemon juice on your hair and go in the sun it will lighten your hair.Thats what i've herd any way!

Lemon juice will not damage your hair. Lemons are mainly used for (hair wise) getting rid of smells, or dirt in your hair. I wouldnt recommend using lemons, but to use a spray in highlight treatment. If you are interested in the spray in highlight treatment, all you need to do is well buy it, gather a small group of hair and lightly spray it. when you are satisflied with what you have done go outside into the sun and in a week or so you should see some results.
