Go to sally beauty supply..buy the bleach powder in the blue packet and volume 40 developer and just do heavy highlights. You can always add more!

The other answer is right- I would just like to add to it- you have to go through all the shades of yellow to get to platinum- or white...if you see that your hair is turning yellow- don't freak, just let the bleach develop more. I have found that putting plastic wrap or a shower cap over it helps the bleach not get all dried out while it develops- and you can still see what it is doing. Good luck!

When purchasing proffessional brand products you must know a little chemistry. I can tell you this much. Purple/Violet/Blue based colors (usually written on the front of the proffessional bottles) cancel out the Yellowish/Goldish tinges you get when coloring. Choose a color no more than three shades lighter than your current (has to be natural, not colored) hair color. If you put the color on hair that has color on the ends, the roots will be considerably lighter than the ends because color won't lift color. It may brighten it, but it won't match the roots. Rule of thumb.

PS....don't forget to mix with equal parts 20Vol. peroxide.(developer)

WHEN IN DOUBT....DON'T !!!!!!
