My hair is blond, very thick, and slightly wavy. usually, when I brush it, it is straight on top, but extremely curly underneath!! I have a flat iron, but never any time to straighten it. maybe an hour or two here and there. My mom won't buy me any creams or sprays unless they are recommended by a friend or someone she trusts (like a professional). Help!!

Well then drag her down to a salon and get a stylist to tell her what to get. Are you blow drying it? that would help a LOT. Basically you need a anti-frizz cream, a paddle brush, a heat tool protection spray and a flat iron. apply anti frizz cream (or if mom says no then rub just a tiny bit of hair conditioner through just the ends) blow dry it with the paddle brush to straighten it then if you want it straighter use the flat iron (and heat protect spray) pin up the straight hair to get it out of the way while you straighten the curly hair, and you should be pretty happy with it.

you should definitely try straightening gel..it will work wonders. just apply some to your hair before blowdrying it and then when it comes time to straighten, your hair will behave. its always a good idea to protect your hair with a straightening spray too (personally i like herbal essences).... oh and extra hot straighteners work best on thick hair!

Honestly, the only thing that really has ever worked for me is a flat iron.
