Does putting lemon in your hair and laying out in the sun brighten your hair?

I'm a dirty blonde so will it make my hair blonder?

yes it does, and if you don't want to use lemon you can always use SUN IN and you can buy it at like walmart or target and it's heat activated as well so you can use a blow dryer too but you will get quicker results with the sun..

Yes, but it will also dry it out. Be sure to use a good conditioner or hot oil afterward.

I tried it once.. it didn't work on me.. but try..., maybe you have better luck than me... :)

It will brighten your hair. It will also dry it out. The acetic acid which makes lemons sour will break down the colorant in your hair, and it will also damage it. Try 1/2 hour to begin, then wash out the acidic lemon juice and apply a deeper conditioner than usual. My advice it to go very slowly, so as not to end up with a haystack instead of golden blonde hair. You might also try a gentle colorant like Fructis. I have found that it's the least destructive. Any coloring will be destructive, though. Good luck!
